Federal law requires dealers that offer finance or lease services to provide a privacy notice to their customers. The Model Privacy Notice form has very strict print and construction guidelines regarding font, print placement, as well as variable content unique to each dealership. We will provide guidance regarding the content of the disclosures as well as a proof before production.
WATDA recommends dealers use a Privacy Notice with the Acknowledgement of Receipt of Documents (Acknowledgement), WATDA form #21. By collecting the customers' signatures in one place on the Acknowledgement dealers adequately document the transaction while avoiding keeping copies of the Privacy Notice and the Risk Based Pricing Notice or Exception Notice in the deal jacket.
